Edward Ray Tealer, Sr. was born on July 22, 1942 to Robert and Lucille Tealer in Taylor, Texas.

Edward accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Taylor, Texas.

55 years ago, Edward met and married Alice Marie Collins and together they raised 11 children.

Yankee as he was better known, was an Assembly man by trade, but a Carpenter by heart. He could always be found with a hammer in his hand and a pencil behind his right ear. He was well known by the employees in Home Depot.

Yankee was preceded in death by an infant son: Louis Tealer; his parents, his sisters: Margaret Seaborn and Doris Jackson-Wiggins; his brothers: Charles Tealer and Rev. Eddie Tealer; his son-in-law John Defreitas; granddaughter Camille Tealer; brother and sister-in-law Mattie Mae Collins and Alfred Collins. A few days later, another brother, Kenneth Ray Tealer joined Yankee in heaven.

Yankee leaves to cherish his jovial life: a loving wife, Alice M. Tealer; daughters: Janice Defreitas, Dawn Tealer; Audrey Coleman, Raysheall Vanscoy and Shelia Wilson; sons: Edward Tealer, Jr., Timmie Tealer, Chris Tealer, Kim Tealer, Terrance Tealer and Kelly Tealer; sisters: Margie Arnold of El Paso, Texas and Alice Griffin of Dallas, Texas; brother Frank Tealer of San Antonio; 3 sons-in-law; 4 brothers-in-law; 6 sisters-in-law; 20 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.

Services entrusted to A Life Celebration by Franklin, Taylor, Texas.
