On a blessed summer day of June 19, 1950 Ruby Lee Burton Burse was born to Calvin Burton, Sr. and Dorothy Wells Burton in Branchville, TX. She attended school at Branchville Elementary. After moving to Austin, she graduated from the Old L. C. Anderson High School in 1968. She later attended Texas Southern University in Houston, TX.

Ruby united in marriage to the late Michael Curtis Johnson and one son was born; Anthony Lamont Johnson and was later joined in marriage to Myron Eugene Burse and one daughter was born; Nicole Elizabeth Burse.

Ruby Burse accepted Christ as her Savior at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Austin, Texas at an early age. Ruby was employed with Dan's Hamburgers, where she served and managed for forty one years. In her leisure, she enjoyed helping others and spending time with family and friends.

She departed this life on February 18, 2014. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Calvin Burton, Sr. and brother, Calvin Burton, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Dorothy Wells Burton; one son, Anthony Johnson; one daughter, Nicole Burse; three grandchildren, Jayden Lowe, Cahya Johnson and Josiah Burse; one brother, Larry Burton (Doris); three sisters, Ann Davis (Ron), Olivia Satterwhite and Janet Burton with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other loving relatives and friends.
