Raymond Jackson was born March 22, 1941 in Travis County, Austin, Texas. He was born the 7th of 9 children to the late Kermit and Geneva Jackson.

He came from a strong family background therefore, professing his faith at an early age. Raymond was a long life member of the Olivet Baptist Church and served faithfully in the footsteps of his parents. He served faithfully in the Olivet Ushers Ministry, Sunday School, Men's Ministry, Wednesday Bible Class, attended Prayer Service and most of all he was a faithful tither.

He was educated in the public schools of Austin Texas where he attended: Rosewood Elementary School, Kealing Junior High School and graduated from L. C. Anderson High School. During his high school days he was actively involved in sports.

He unite in holy matrimony to Teence Jackson and raised an adorable step-daughter (Elaine).

At the onset of his career he attended People's Business College and later he chose a career at King-Tears Mortuary where he worked for over 45 years. He received numerous awards and recognitions for his hard work and dedication. He continued to work at the Mortuary until his health failed him.

Raymond's favorite hobby and talent was to grill and prepare Barbecue and share it with the family and community.

He placed highest priority on his Christian ideas and gave unselfishly of his God given talent. His barbecue was unmatchable and CRAVED by all.

Raymond you ran a good race, fought a good fight and on January 10, 2014 you finished the course.

We salute you for your honesty and steadfast Christian obedience. Your blue print of life will sustain us in our painful sorrow. Thank you for the beautiful memories. Gone but never forgotten.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Mr. & Mrs. Kermit Jackson and four siblings: Joe Kermit Jackson, Lola Jackson Howard, Clarence Jackson and Charles Jackson. Embracing his legacy and memory are his sister Doris Chambers, brother Ray Jackson both of Austin, Texas, his sister Gratches Propps of San Antonio, Texas and sister JoAnn Lemon (Charles) of Country Club Hills, Illinois and other relatives and friends.
