Almella Davis-Manor, native of Austin, Texas was born to Almus Henry Hill and Ella Mae Davis on September 29, 1942. She was the first born of eleven to Ella Mae Davis, and of four born to Almus Henry Hill.

She transitioned from this life to her eternal life on November 8, 2013. Almella attended Austin Public Schools and was a proud graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School, class of 1960, from there she went on to pursue her musical career. She united in holy matrimony to Reverend Carlester Davis, and after his death she married Reverend Vernon Manor, Sr.

She was a dedicated employee of the State of Texas from where she retired after many years of service.

Almella professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at the age of nine at Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Robert L. Rowe.

At the age of twenty seven he mother passed away and Almella took on the responsibility of raising seven of her younger siblings along with her own three children. She showered them with the love and affection that she acquired from her mother.

Almella was inspired by God to minister to us through her music. She was known for her great musical gift and the ability to spread it among the masses.

Almella was known to most for her dedicated service as an accomplished musician for many churches and choirs in the Austin Community. She gave unselfishly of her time as a director and musician for Solid Rock Baptist Church, Conley-Guerrero Senior Activity Choir and Gloryland Friends and Family Community Choir. She also directed and led many songs for the St. John District Association.

Almella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dr. Reverend Vernon Manor I, her son Michael Almus Kellough, two sisters, Lucy Davis and Jean Evelyn Davis-Kerr. Almella leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving sons, James Kellough and his wife Stephanie of San Diego, California and David Kellough and his wife Giselle of Austin, Texas; six step-children, Vernon Manor, Jr. II (Marcia), Seretha Manor-Carter, Gwen Davis, Debra Davis, Brenda Davis, Ella Davis, three brothers, Robert Davis (Betty), Dwight Davis (Latrice), and Luscious Jake Davis; seven grandchildren, Nathan Kellough, Christopher O. Kellough, Tramaine L. Brown (Mushaun), Stephanie Y. Haynes (Alex), Diondra Halton and Dominique Halton, and sister-in-law, Maxine Sutton Manor, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
