Susan Theresa Stansberry was born on February 16, 1953 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the Lawrence and Delores Sturgis Lathers-Wilkinsin. She was devoted Christian at the age of 8.

She graduated from St. Raymond Elementary School and in 1972 Susan graduated from St. Mary's High School both located in New Orleans, Louisiana. On June 16, 1973 Susan fell in love and married Johnie Staqnsberry
From this union one son was born, Johnie Standberry.

Susan attended Touro School of Respiratory where she became a respiratory technician. Susan held many jobs in her life. She worked at Schwegmann for 5 years, Touro for 2 years, Private Duty with Mrs. L. Baker for 10 years. Susan retired due to her health.

Susan was a devoted Usher at Third Missionary Baptist Church in St. Bernard, Louisiana.

In the 80's she volunteered with feeding and praying for the home bound. In the 90's she and her family moved to Austin, Teas where she continued to volunteer with the sick and helping out her neighbors when she could.

Susan loved to tell jokes, playing the dozens, read, doing puzzles, playing with children, and cooking. Susan was a very devoted grandmother to Jonathan and Jayonna. God called this angel home from her labor.
on November 4, 2013. Susan will be missed by all who crossed her path.

Susan leaves to keep her many wonderful memories alive, her grandchildren, Jonathan Isaiah and Jayonna Faye Stansberry; brothers David Wilkinson, Jr. and Lawrence Lathers, Jr.; sisters Mary W. McGee, Madrid and Ingrid Lathers; father-in-law Columbus Danigan; step mother Earline Lathers, devoted nieces and nephews Monique Wilkinson, Delorean, Darryl, Jr., David and Daniel McGee; aunts Ruby Miller, Evelyn Sturgis, Dorothy Lathers; aunts-in-law Helen McCain. Linda Farr, Dorothy Raymond and Dorothy Lathers; uncles-in-law Sammy, Charles and Edward Stansberry; sisters-in-law Sharon Stansberry, Reney, Anita, Launinda, Trice and Monique Danigan; brothers-in-law, James Stansberry, Jr. and Calvin Danigan; godchild, Elma Jones-Brooks.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, step father David Wilkinson, Sr., father and mother-in-law James Stansberry and Annette Danigan; grandparents Albert Sturgis and Susan Campbell. Henry and Julia Lathers; aunts Mable E. Brooks and Eliza S. Robillard; uncles Forest Sturgis, Sr., Wilbert Sturgis, Sr., William Robillard, Robert Miller, James Parker, Eddie Lathers, Sr., Special cousin, Stanley Brooks, elvin Brooks, sisters-in-law Lola and Joyce Stansberry.
