Eric Glenn Timmes was born to the late Paralee and Robert Timmes on January 20, 1959, in Taylor, Texas. He attended Austin public schools, graduating from Reagan High School, and then went on to excel and eventually graduate from trade school.

Confessing Christ at an early age, Eric was an active member of the Church of the New Testament where he played the piano. He later united with Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.

Eric was a loyal employee of Motorola for over 20 years before he retired. Following his retirement, Eric became self employed and was the proprietor of several small businesses. He also worked for several local transportation companies which afforded him the opportunity to do something that he loved — meet people.

On June 27, 1987 he married Vanessa Hammonds, and their union was blessed with two beautiful children; Tameria Dionne (who preceded him in death) and Andre Marcel.

Eric was determined to stand for Christ faithfully in life and 'til death. He lived, working not for himself, but for the eternal things of the kingdom of God, spreading Christ's good news through word, deed, and an overall gospel-centered way of living. Eric loved Christ and allowed it to foster in him an amazing love for people. He touched many lives with his generosity, gentleness and humble spirit.

To cherish his memory and continue the good race, Eric leaves his loving son, Andre Marcel Timmes; two aunts, Marrion Stowers and Johnnie Ruth Parker; one uncle, Rev. Johnnie Stowers, three nephews, two nieces, and a host of other family members, co-workers, and friends.
