John Hugo Williams was born on January 30, 1937 to the late John Hugo Williams, Sr. and Vernelle Jackson Williams in Petersburg, Virginia. He was the oldest of seven children. He attended public school in Petersburg, Virginia. He confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He joined the Air Force branch of the military where he served in the Korean War. John was ordained as a minister by Pastor J. R. Williams at True Light Baptist Church where he served as associate minister and was a member for 38 years.

November 3, 1957 he was joined in holy matrimony with Marie Annie Bell Sauls. This union was blessed with five children. He was a Loving Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Friend.

He departed this life on Monday, July 15, 2013 after illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Hugo and Vernelle Jackson Williams; his wife of 53 years, Marie Annie Bell Williams and 3 brothers, Charles A. Williams, Alvin S. "Bubee" Williams and James A. "Poppa" Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children Pamela Y. Houston (Vincent), John H. Williams, Jr., Shelia V. Williams all of Austin; Jacqueline Y. Maldonado, (Robert) of Germany and Cynthia D. Williams of Los Angeles, CA. Very Special Daughter: Tenya M. Williams of Austin. Grandchildren: LaTesheia Williams, Joshua Williams, (Toshya), Tatiaunna Maldonado, Robert Maldonado, Mariah Williams, LaDarrion Williams, Isaiah Williams, Tara Williams and Ariana Houston. 3 Great Grandchildren 3 Sisters: Vernelle E. Williams; Ernestine E. Batts and Delilah S. Walker, (Percy) and Sister-In-Law Bobbie J. Ewing, Flint, MI. A host of other relatives and friends.
