Brother Billy Joe Royston was the seventh child born to the late Vastine Royston and Corine Joiner Royston on May 7th, 1944 in Buda, Texas on the Norco Ranch.

He attended the Buda Public Schools. At an early age he became a member of Center Union Missionary Baptist Church, Buda, Texas under the leadership of the Reverend O. B. Clayborne.

Billy was united in marriage to Alberta Wright Green. To this union no children were born.

He enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved playing baseball in the neighborhood fields with his sisters, cousins and friends. In high school, he played football on the Buda Bulldogs team. If he could go hunting, fishing, or play dominoes, then that would make his day. His greatest joys were driving heavy equipment and dump trucks and landscaping in his family owned excavating business. Later he had the privilege of owning his own excavating business.

Bill will be remembered by his family and friends as a calm and quiet man. Missed will be the laughter and love he shared with us.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers John L. McNeil, and Vastine Royston, Jr, and one sister Corine Royston. He leaves to cherish his memory, his former wife Alberta Royston, San Marcos, Texas, one stepson Charles (Paz) Green, Jr, one stepdaughter Berta J. (Levy) Crayton, six sisters: Laura (John) Morris, Eddie J. Hill, Drosie Brown, Alicstine Swan, Janie Royston and Janettee Swan all of Buda, Texas, one step-grandchild and two step-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
