Delone Artley III, 23, was born on January 18, 1990, in Waukegan, Illinois, to the union of Delone Artley Jr. and LaDonna (Scott) Artley. His maternal grandmother, Yevette Scott, preceded him in death.

Delone confessed Christ at an early age and was known for being compassionate, loving and inspiring to his family, friends and everyone that he encountered. His charming smile and big heart touched many lives in a special way.

Delone belonged to a military family and was educated throughout the United States and abroad. He was a proud Panther and attended Pflugerville High school and graduated in the class of 2008. As an adolescent, Delone's vision was to follow in his father's footsteps by enlisting in the military, attending college and pursuing law enforcement with the Austin Police Department. He was driven, determined and on the path of fulfilling his dreams.

Delone excelled in life and accomplished many of the goals that he set for himself at an early age. He became a proud member of the United States Air Force in 2009.During his career, he was awarded the Air Force Commendation medal for his meritorious service. Senior Airman Delone Artley III mastered his duties during his deployments to Al Udeid and Bagram Air Bases in support of Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Delone responded to multiple hostile mortar attacks without regard for his own safety. He ensured the safe delivery of humanitarian aid to foreign countries and countless refugees. Delone also escorted five fallen angel flyaway missions, which honored those who had made the ultimate sacrifice while fighting the Global War on Terrorism and protecting the freedoms of our nation. Delone was the epitome of a hard-worker and was anxious to begin the next chapter of his career. He applied to the Austin Police Department and had completed the preliminary paperwork. He was scheduled for further testing with the department in May 2013.

Delone enjoyed life and loved spending time with his family and friends. Delone and his father shared many of the same hobbies and passions such as horseback riding, motorcycle riding, four wheeling, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Delone enjoyed positively impacting lives and frequently volunteered for various military youth functions and non-profit organizations.

Delone was united in marriage on July 1, 2011 to Khaleah (Francis) Artley. On December 17, 2012 their precious gift, little princess Amiyah Yevette Artley was born. He was overjoyed about being a husband and father. Delone adored Amiyah and was dedicated to being a great father. He loved to laugh and share the plan that he anxiously anticipated for little Amiyah. Despite working long shifts, Delone always made sure that he spent quality time with his wife and baby girl.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Khaleah Artley (Wife), Amiyah Yevette Artley (Daughter), Delone & LaDonna Artley (Parents), LaKeisha Artley (Sister), Hazel Whitmore (Paternal Grandmother), Sandra Francis (Mother-in-law), Cecil Francis (Father-in-law), Cecily & Makini Francis (Sisters-in law), and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, Air Force brothers and friends
