Calvin E. Taylor, Jr. was the first born of nine children to Rev. Calvin E. Taylor, Sr. and Geraldene L. Taylor on September 12, 1954, in Austin, Texas.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Austin public schools.

Calvin had various jobs and his last place of employment was with Michael Angelos up until his health failed.

He enjoyed fishing, reading, singing, and watching science fiction movies. He had many friends and enjoyed spending time with his grand children. Calvin was a good father and loved his children also.
He served in the U.S. Army and left under Honorable conditions.

Calvin was ordained as a Deacon in 2006.

Calvin was preceded in death by his sisters, Karene D. Robinson and Winnie L. Taylor. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his parents, Rev. Calvin E. Taylor, Sr. and Geraldene Taylor; his wife Ernestine Taylor of 20 years; one son, Calvin E. Taylor, III; two daughters, Runshay Yett (Brandon) and Mariko Taylor of Austin, TX; two brothers, Dennis R. Taylor and Kenneth A. Taylor of Austin, TX; five sisters, Allayne Perkins (Arie), Adrianne Taylor (Wesley), Trisha Redd (Dexter), Beverly Taylor, all of Austin, TX, and Charlene Waddell of San Diego, CA; seven grand children; and a host of relatives and friends.
