On March 16, 1939, the late Mary Lee and William Roy Turner were blessed with the birth of Wilma Louise Turner, the last of their seven children.

Wilma attended St. John College Heights Baptist Church with her parents and accepted Christ at an early age. She later joined the Ulit Avenue Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend O.S. Davis where she was a faithful member and worker until her health declined.

She attended Austin Public Schools and graduated from Old Anderson High school. Wilma also attended Austin Community College where she majored in Child Development.

Wilma was united in holy matrimony to the late Sgt. Kenneth Cortez Young on April 26, 1959. This union traveled to North Dakota and Lubbock, Texas. After the death of Sgt. Young, Wilma relocated back to Austin, Texas to be with family.

Because of an incident that happened to her 1st grandchild while in daycare, Wilma decided to open and operate her own daycare so that she could take care of her own grandchildren. While in business for 21 years, Wilma cared for over 200 children.

Wilma is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, sister: Jim Ella Gilbert, brothers; Charles Turner, Odell Turner and Leroy Turner.

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters; Kimberly Young and Shervelia Pendergrass of Austin, Texas. Sons; Xavier Turner (Dinah), Zarin Turner, Reginald Young, Aeric Young all of Austin, Texas, Rynsel Young (Tashauna) of Giddings, Texas. Brothers; Robert Leward Turner (Linda) of Bastrop, Texas, Robert Turner (Virginia) of Austin, Texas, Sister-in-Laws; Lorene Turner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Verlene Turner of Houston, Texas, 15 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
