Marian was born June 20th, 1922 to the late Tom and Florida (Suldon) Stewart in Parsons, Kansas; she was the fifth child out of twenty children. She attended Douglas School in Parsons where she also accepted Christ at an early age.

Marian moved to Topeka, Kansas in the early 1940's. She married the late Dean Smith; and to that union three sons were born--two of those sons, Arthur Smith and Terrall Smith preceded her in death. Marian was employed at Topeka State Hospital Neurological Institute for many years.

In 1958 Marian married Cicero Perry (who preceded her in death), and to that union one daughter, Melody Perry was born. Later, in 1965 they moved to Gary, Indiana. During her stay in Gary, Marian was under the leadership of Elder M. C. Bennett C.O.G.I.C. Marian loved taking care of children; and because of that love for children she adopted three children. She was employed at the Oak Forest Mental Institution in Gary, Indiana where she worked until she retired in 1972.

In 1998 Marian made Austin, Texas home, and she became a part of the Cathedral of Faith C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Supt. Dennis Watson. Marian was a great cook who will long be remembered for making greens, ribs, and peach cobbler.

She leaves to cherish her memories five children: Ivan (Cynthia) Smith of Lago Vistas, TX, Melody Perry of Austin, Texas, Darren Starling (Perry) of Denver, Colorado, Stanley Mohn (Perry) of Korea, and Linda Mohn (Perry) of Indianapolis, IN; one brother Wilson (Betty) Stewart Sr. of Topeka, KS; two sisters Elizabeth Ross of Topeka, KS and Ruby Stewart of Parsons KS; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
