Margie Lee Brown was born June 30, 1923 in White Oak, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Foster M. Council, Sr. and Lottie Burney Council. She departed this life surrounded by family in Round Rock, Texas.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late John Rogers Brown and to this union six daughters and two sons were born. Both sons preceded her in death.

At an early age she accepted Christ and was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church, Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she remained an active, loyal and devoted member.

She leaves to cherish her memory: six daughters, Ms. Betty Jean West of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ms. Linda McNealy of Austin, Texas, Mrs. Bernice (Pat) Bennett of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Miss Phyllis Brown of Round Rock, Texas, Mrs. Vickie Cross of Round Rock, Texas, and Mrs. Meldia Brown King of Pflugerville, Texas; seven grandchildren, Robert West, Jr., Rhonda West, Leslie Brown, Billy McNealy, Jr., Carlos Bennett, Terek Brown and Tiara Cross; two sisters, Ms. Eloise Johnson and Mrs. Marylene West; four brothers; Thomas J., Ernest, Foster, Jr., and Herman Council; three sons-in-law, Charles Bennett, James Cross, and Robert King; seven great-grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. One sister, Beaulah Roundtree; three brothers, Roosevelt, Archie, and Wilbert Council preceded her in death.
