Mrs. Birdie Mae Bryant was born on August 2, 1944 to Eddie & Minnie Maloy. Birdie was born and raised in Rockdale, Texas where she attended the Rockdale Public Schools. After High School she obtained Associate Degrees in both Nursing and Education.

She married Earl Mays and to this union three children were born. She later married Weldon Bryant and one daughter was born to this union. Birdie confessed Christ at an early age as a member of the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Rockdale, Texas.

After moving to Austin she became a member of New Life Church under the Pastor and leadership of Elder Sidney Maloy.

Birdie Bryant was preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Minnie Maloy; husband Weldon Bryant, two brothers: C B. Maloy and James Maloy, one sister Dorothy Jean Maloy and her step-daughter Ola Mae Clemons.

She departed this life on Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Left behind to cherish her memories are: three daughters: Brenda McCradic (husband Michael), Elaine Mays, Bridget Bolden (husband Daniel), one son Edward Mays, step-children: Weldon Bryant, Jr., Helen Lott and Viola Thompson, sisters: Eddie Mae Myers, Joyce McDonald (husband James), brothers: Willie Maloy (wife Janice), David Maloy (wife Yvonne), son-in-law Theodore Clemons, fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
