Eugene Anderson, Jr. was born October 28, 1956 in Austin, Texas to Alice Ann Dale and Eugene Anderson, Sr. He attended public schools in Austin after which he enlisted into the United States Army with his most memorable tour of duty being in Korea. Upon leaving the Army, he worked for the University of Texas. He spent his last thirteen plus years working with the Cit of Austin Sanitation and Recycling Department.

Eugene confessed Christ at an early age at the Ulit Avenue Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend O. S. Davis. He believed in Jeuss and in the power of prayer.

Eugene's greatest legacy was his love, devotion and service to his family. He enjoyed cooking and loved watching his family and friends enjoy his prepared meals. He was well known for the "World's Famous" potato salad.

After a brief battle with cancer, on the evening of Septemer 5, 2012, Eugene entered into heavenly rest. There he joins his mother and father and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Eugene leaves to cherish his memory son, Derrick Eugene Early, brother Robert Mitchell, sister Debra Sue, brothers Donald Ray, Michael, Ricky and Dion; sisters Gloria, Lisa, Sandra and Sonya; grandchildren Derrick, LaDacious, De'Arrick and Jada; nieces LaMeka, Wendy, Keala, Teliea and Asia; great nephew, T. J. Lowe; and a host of relatives and friends.
