On Sunday, July 29, 2012, the Lord called his servant Winnie Estella Clark Wright home to rest from her labor.

Winnie, known to many as "Ray", was born in Bastrop County on September 5, 1931 to Carlene Alexander and Elmo Clark. Her formative education began in Bastrop and continued in Ft. Worth and Austin. While attending Anderson high School, she met and married Rev. W. T. Wright. To this union three children were born. After moving to West Texas, she finished nursing school and worked in several hospitals, including Crane Memorial where she worked until she retired with the passing of her husband. As a minister's spouse for twenty-five years, she worked diligently to support her husband's ministry, serving in any capacity necessary to enhance and build God's kingdom.

Winnie was a faithful member of Grant until her health prohibited her from attending regularly. While at Grant, Winnie served as a steward, sang in the choir and worked in the missionary society for many years. Under rev. Leo Griffin, she also worked in the office, serving as the pastor's secretary.

Winnie was preceded in death by her parents; two aunts, Ermine McBride and Bernice Houston; husband Rev. W. T. Wright; and son, Dr. W. T. Wright, Jr. She is survived by daughters, Brenda (Willie) Hill of Whitehouse, Texas and Rev. Diane (Melvin) Carmichael of Austin, Texas. Also left to cherish her memories are four grandchildren, Royce Hill, Vincent Carmichael, Christopher Carmichael, and Whitney Wright Hawkins as well as three great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
