Curtis Wright, Jr. affectionately called "Daddy" and "Grampy" was born July 16, 1933 in Kyle, Texas to Curtis Wright, Sr. and Josephine Sneed. He passed away in Austin, Texas on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the age of seventy-eight.

Curtis attened Carver High in Lockhart, Texas. He entered into the United States Air Force in 1952 retiring after twenty years of service. In 1963 he moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he became employed as a mechanic with Polaroid. After twenty years, he retired from Polaroid and returned to his home state of Texas. He continued his career working for Gary Job Corps, Capital Metro, Star Shuttle, and First Transit until his passing. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, golfing, reparing a variety of small engines, as well as his own personal vehicles, and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother; father; brother, William Wright; and wives Ola V. Wright-Burnett, Anna Lee Wright, and Blanche Elizabeth Wright.

Curtis is survived by his children Jacqueline Wright, Leo Wright, Phillip Wright, Jerome "Ricky" Young, James Wright, Latanya "Jeannette" Wright, Derek Wright, Claudette "Renee" Wright, DeNay A. Rhock, Keisa Garvin, Yvette Wright, and Denise Evans; his brother Jimmy Wright, sisters Rose Spruell and Arbiniece Ellison; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and loved ones.
