Arthur Elmer "Boots", "Bootie", "Moe" Shaw was born April 14, 1931 in Garfield, Texas to Nellie Shaw Williams and Johnnie Wheeler. Arthur peacefully slipped away on May 10, 2012. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Shaw Williams and brother Joe Warren Bedford. Arthur leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Myrtle Lee Hicks Shaw, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage, one sister Elaine Williams, one brother Julius "Squeaky" Bedford (wife Margie), a daughter Orelia Daniels, one grandson Sidney Sadler, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Brother Shaw gave his life to Christ on January 2, 1983. He was ordained a deacon by Brother Bill Jones of Church of the New Testament, and was called into the ministry in 1999 to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Brother Shaw lived an active life until his health failed. He was active in the ministry at the Gardner Betts Juvenile Detention Center, the Salvation Army, various nursing home facilities, and wherever the gospel message was needed. His earliest athletic endeavors included the football, basketball, and track teams at the original L. C. Anderson High School. He helped organize a booster club for athletics at the Old Anderson High School and helped found the East Austin Youth Foundation. He was an avid golfer. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 31 years of service.

Brother Shaw looks forward to the great reunion in heaven. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
(II Timothy 4:7-8)
