In Austin, Texas on Thursday, April 28, 2012, Jesus in His infinite wisdom summoned a generous, loving and hard working mother, Gwendolyn Patricia Ann Patton Calvert age 64, home. Gwen was born to George and Ruby Patton.

Gwen professed Christ at an early age at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J. H. Washington.

She attended Holy Cross, Blackshear, and Rosewood Elementary, Kealing Jr. High and finished her education in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She worked for Bergstrom Air Force Base, Lewis BBQ and Subway (manager) for many years.

Preceding her in death were her father, George Patton, mother Ruby Patton, grandparents George and Margaret and James and Seawiller Lee.

Gwen was united in marriage to Jim Calvert and to this marriage one child was born, Reginald Calvert. She was married to Edward Henderson, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Marvan Arnold and to this union one child was born, Veronica Arnold.

Gwen was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and miece. She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life daughters, Veronica Arnold, Margaret Berry, and son Reginald Calvert (Audrey). She also leaves her only sister, Veronica Patton of Houston, Texas; one uncle Everett Patton (Dorothy) of San Francisco, California; two aunts, Barbara Burdett of Austin, Texas and Faye Mayes (Leonard) of San Antonio, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 13 step children; and a host of family and friends.
