Odell Rowe was born August 25, 1948, in Austin, Texas and was from labor to reward to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on April 18, 2012. He was the first child born to Isom Rowe, Jr. and Dorothy N. Sneed Rowe.

He was nicknamed Water Hog, because of his love for water when he learned how to swim.

Odell attended the Austin Public Schools.

He accepted Christ as Savior at an early age, and united with St. Edwards Baptist Church, under the pastoral leadership of Rev A. Dewitty. In his daily walk, he let his little light shine, and the world could see the fruits of the spirit in him.

His life's work revolved around the Austin Country Club. At age 13 he began working as a caddy, he moved up to waiting tables, in the 19th Hole and later became locker room manager.

Odell was a kind, quite humble, loving sharing person. He truly loved his family, friends, golf, blues, Cadillacs, Texas Longhorn Football and, sitting on the front porch. A cousin described him as a one man neighborhood watch.

If he considered you a friend you knew it. He would go the extra mile for his friends. If you needed money and he had it, you could get it. If he didn't have, he would go and borrow it for you.

He was preceded in death by his parents Isom Rowe Jr. and Dorothy N. Rowe, three brothers Algie Rowe, Richard Rowe, and James C. Rowe.

He leaves to forever cherish his memory three aunts Daisy Ates, Ola M Mayberry(Rev. Tommy) of Austin Texas, Lola M. Waller of Denver, Colorado; two sisters Joann Lewis, Joyce Rowe; four brothers Johnny Rowe, Curtis Rowe, Wayne Rowe, of Austin, Texas, and Clifton Griffin of Kyle, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
