Shawn Patrice Carrington was born January 28, 1972 in Alice, Texas to John "Al" and Lonnie Ruth Carrington. He attended public school there where he participated in baseball and basketball and developed a greater love for fishing and especially golf.

Shawn accepted Christ and was baptized in his early youth at True Light Baptist Church, Alice, Texas where he actively served until moving to Austin, Texas. He later returned to Alice and united with Brooks AME Worship Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. A better job opportunity sent him back to Austin, Texas and he became a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Shawn loved people and had a personality that attracted persons and blended with his "devilish" actions. He was a kind, respectable and loving person whose attitude was always positive.

Unforgettable memories of this devoted fun loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle will be forever cherished by his wife Jamie; daughters, Payton and Taylor; sons, Brandon and Michael; father, John "Al" Carrington (Brenda), of Austin, Texas; mother Lonnie Ruth Ferrell (Rev. J. N. Ferrell, Jr.), Alice Texas; grandmother, Eddie Alvarado Phenix, Alice, Texas; four brothers, Terence of Alice, Texas, Cedric (Nicole) of Hutto, Texas, Russell and Dwayne of Corpus Christi, Texas and adopted brother Zollie Keebler; five sisters, Chandra of Alice, Texas, Eva (Richard) of Round Rock, Texas, Sara (Raymond) of Pflugerville, Texas, Myra and Hazel of Corpus Christi, Texas; extended brothers and sisters, Felicia (Fred), Donna (Charles) and Donald (Josie); and a host of precious nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who were truly blessed by his time with us.
