Hortense M. Barrs-Davis was born to Daisy and Greal Barrs on June 24, 1933 in Trinidad, Texas. Hortense was the youngest girl of three and the lucky seven of ten children.

She attended Manor I.S.D and dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. Hortense was a dedicated and faithful mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, daughter and friend. Above all of this she was truly a servant of God. She had a smile that would light up a room and heart of gold. She had a passion for fashion, loved multiple hairstyles. She always loved to tell jokes and stories to entertain others.

Hortense Barrs was united in Holy matrimony to Mr. Willie James Davis for 35 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Willie James Davis; six children, Joyce Ann Easley, Donald Ray Easley (Cherry), Sharon Yvonne Easley, Dwayne Edward Easley, Patricia Ann Easley, Pamela Denise Easley: special grandson/son JaQuan Gray-Davis; step children Valarie West (John), Constance Clark; two sisters Verna May Jackson; Sammie Bell Lane (Arthur); one brother Orangerine Barrs (Earline); 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her first husband James Easley ("Blue"); daughter Wanda Faye Bunton; father and mother Greal and Daisy Barrs; and six brothers Alonzo, Matthew, Wilbert, Greal, William Sonny and Brady Barrs preceded her in death.
